After several rice meals, I found myself craving bread. However, when I went to the nearest convenience store, they were out-of-stock of half-loaf bread packs. So, I ended up with one whole loaf of bread. I usually can’t consume a whole loaf of bread within five days (usual shelf-life), but being an advocate of #notofoodwaste, I had to think of ways to enjoy the said loaf of bread. I originally just wanted some toast and leeks omelette. I ended up eating bread for five consecutive days, so I had to rack my brains on how else I could enjoy this carbohydrate.

Leeks Omelette
I remember enjoying bread and consuming copious amounts of it during my late teens and early 20s, along with pasta. Eventually, I started preferring wheat bread over white bread. Although I’m no longer as fond of bread as I used to be, I still have cravings now and then. So it was also a bummer that the convenience store didn’t have wheat bread when I went there. I guess the only ‘convenience’ I got was its proximity to where am currently sojourning. Hah!
With the different types of egg sandwiches I’ve been consuming, I was still left with some slices of white bread so I decided to be a little more creative. I was thinking something similar to corndog but instead of making cornmeal batter, I’d just go for the white bread. For some reason, these crunchy fried logs reminded me of basketball games and beer. Hah.
Flattening the bread slices, wrapping the franks, gently dipping them in beaten egg, and then coating them with breadcrumbs before frying gave me the satisfaction I needed after having bread for days on end. LOL. I enjoyed it with mustard, tomato catsup, and Amrey’s Kitchen™ Sambal Oelek. If I had some sauerkraut in stock, it would have been the perfect meal. But yeah, no sauerkraut for this #WHooman. Still, I was thrilled knowing there was no food waste, plus I got to enjoy some good old fried comfort food! Hear, hear.
